Readings: Acts 6: 8- 15; Jn 6: 22 – 29
Our Call to a Christian life is prophetic. Our prophetic call is to bear witness to Christ by trusting him completely, loving him unconditionally, and living up to his values and virtues
authentically in our day-to-day life.
In the first reading, Stephen’s role depicts our prophetic call to take a stand for Christ and face
all hurdles and hindrances for Christ. However, it is hard to stand for Jesus against the hurdles of the contemporary world to bear a true testimony for Christ. Because we are all immersed in the
world of science and technology, we seek vital signs, evidence, and verification.
We may expect signs and wonders to happen in our life to place our trust in God. Jesus emphasized that our faith is not only in terms of wonders and signs but also the trust we have in God amidst our shortcomings, hindrance, temptations, and problems.
Our prophetic life is sealed with God’s unconditional love and his choicest blessings. Hence, we are called to bear witness to Christ’s message of love, peace, justice, and freedom in our life to inherit an eternal life. We are like prophets anointed by the spirit of God, sealed with his gifts and fruits to shine and radiate the light of good news to the whole world. Let Christ be proclaimed and lived through our lives.
