‘Love one another as you love yourselves’- This second commandment of Jesus is the main source to see God in others. If we fail to love our neighbour, we are far away from Jesus. The invisible love will be visible to our neighbours only when we become loving, helpers, and supporters of our neighbours. Acts of love can be seen only through our neighbours.
The gospel reading of the day invites you and me to abide in God’s love. To preach love is easy, but to act upon love is cumbersome. In my daily life, I feel sorry when my mind and heart experience sin. At every moment I fail to see good in others, especially in those I do not like, I have found it easier to love myself than my enemies.
Today, Jesus asks me- Can I speak good about my enemies and appreciate them? Can I be a good brother and sister to them? Many times, when they wish to talk to me, I go away. Thus, I create an enmity circle. However, Jesus invites me to stay in love and accept my weaknesses and be positive in my thinking while looking at others. Let us not be selfish to accept others’ love and give love to others. Let us abide in Jesus, in ourselves and in our relationships.
