In today’s gospel, we witness what has been prophesied by the prophet Isaiah is fulfilled through Jesus. In the gospel passage we see people come to Jesus with faith to heal the paralytic.
We often forget about the paralytic man, who is mostly silent during the whole episode. But none of these could have been possible without his mutual consent. He was also willing to go to any extent to see Jesus. He received more than what he expected. He received spiritual and physical healing and was forgiven of his sins. Healing took place through faith and forgiveness.
With one’s faith or others’ faith, we need to come as well as help others to come to the Lord. He will forgive and heal all our sicknesses if we approach him with repented hearts. The word God invites us to examine ourselves: With what inner disposition do I come to the Lord? Where do I need healing from God?
