Readings: Eph 2:12-22; Lk 12:35-38
The readings of the day invite us to be watchful and be aware of all the things that we do in our life, because the work of the evil spirit may look so pleasing and at times we may not be able to understand the ways the evil spirit works in our life. We may think that what we are doing is the right thing and give importance to our own selfishness and fail to understand the work of God in us when we do not listen to the inner voice that speaks to us.
Discernment of the spirit is a continual process of sorting out the interior movements and feelings within us, to accept those that originate from God and reject those that originate from the evil spirit. This is a continuous process that we need to be aware for every action in our life.
In this pandemic situation, we may tend to think that everything is a punishment of God and fail to realize the good work or the little help that we receive from various people in different forms. Today Jesus is inviting us to make a continuous discernment of all that we do so that we may not fall into wrong ways, rather do the right thing by listening to our own conscience and be watchful of all our actions.
