Live Your Lives as Best as You Can

Readings: Ex 3:1-6, 9-12; Mt 11:25-27

The readings of the day invite us to focus on the concept of knowing God and to growing in his wisdom and knowledge.

In the first reading, we see God makes himself known to Moses in the burning bush. He reveals to Moses that it is he who is, calling him to lead the Israelites out of slavery. As Christians, every one of us is called to serve God. It is not necessary that one should be a leader, priest or a religious to be at the service. All can render services anywhere as believers no matter what position we hold in life.

God provides the resources and strength which we need in accomplishing his mission entrusted to us. Therefore, it is not we but God who works through us. It is not Moses who delivered the Israelites but God.

And in the Gospel, we see Jesus offers his thanksgiving prayer to the Father for revealing himself and his message to the humble and little ones. Jesus values the poor and humble people because they are open to the revelation of God. Those who think of themselves as wise, intelligent, and self-sufficient are blind to the Lord of heaven and earth and to the truth. They rest in their own ability and achievements.

Therefore, God is helpless in revealing the truth to them. We ask God, our Father to grant us the humility and childlike faith, so that we may accept the divine revelation wholeheartedly and live our lives as best as we can.
