Readings: Rev 4:1-11; Lk 19:11-28
In the first reading from Revelation, John shares a vision of heaven where he sees God on his throne, surrounded by amazing creatures worshiping him, proclaiming, “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty.” This vision highlights God’s greatness and the respect he deserves. In the gospel of Luke, Jesus tells the story of a nobleman who entrusts money to his servants. When he returns, he praises those who used their gifts wisely but is disappointed with the one who hid his gift out of fear.
Jesus teaches us to make the most of the gifts and talents God has given us, whether that’s helping others, creating, or simply being present. Pope Francis reminds us, “God does not call us to a life of comfort, but to a life of service.” Instead of letting fear hold us back, we should use our gifts to honour God and help others.
Each of us may do this differently, but what matters is living with purpose and trust in Him. These readings remind us to praise God, be thankful for His blessings, and use our abilities to make a positive difference. In doing so, we manifest God’s love in our lives, bringing joy to Him and to those around us.
