Shajouba: At the close of the academic year 2021, after their final examination, neighbourhood children’s Parliament (NCP) of St. Joseph’s High School Shajouba celebrated Pre-Christmas with much enthusiasm. A total of 150 children took part in the celebrations. The celebrations began with a hymn to the Holy Spirit. Fr. Sanjeev Linda SDB led the opening prayer in which he prayed for all the benefactors and all the generous people who were instrumental in making the event a success.
“When the whole world is not able to have normal celebrations of life due to covid 19 pandemic, God has given this unique gift to NCP group to spend a this day to celebrate Pre-Christmas with your friends” said Fr. Blasius Tete sdb, Headmaster of St. Joseph’s High School Shajouba. “The core message of Christmas is sharing, God shared his only Son with us, we in turn share with others what we have” said the headmaster.
Songs and dances were put up by different groups of NCP members hailing from five villages of the neighbourhood. It was also an occasion for them to display their talents and overcome stage fear and gain confidence to speak in the public.
Speaking to the boys and girls of NCP group, Sr. Fatima, FMA, superior of Auxilium convent, Shajouba said, “You are the lucky ones to come together and celebrate Pre-Christmas as NCP group before the winter holidays.” “It’s a special blessing God is giving to all of you as Christmas gift” said the FMA superior of Auxilium convent Shajouba.
