Senapati: Continuing with its legacy to provide quality educational opportunities especially in remote areas, in collaboration with the sisters of Our Lady of Providence (OLP) Varanasi the Salesians (SDB) of Dimapur province on Monday inaugurated the new Don Bosco School at Oklong Maryram under Senapati District of the state of Manipur.
Terming it as a historical event by the villagers of Oklong Maryram, a simple and yet an emotional inaugural function was held at 9.00 am local time to formally start the new academic session 2022.
The move was aimed at bringing quality education to the students of the area resounding promises of happier days to come in the lives of the people of Oklong Maryram.
The new session will kick off with a total of 24 students as the first batch of Don Bosco School Oklong Maryram.
Thanks to the efforts of the Salesians of Dimapur province under the able leadership of Rev. Fr. Peter Salew, SDB who led the whole team to fulfil the mission which was materialized after months of identifying the site and the agreement reached unanimity with the local leaders who welcomed the new Don Bosco School of Oklong Maryram wholeheartedly.
On the occasion, veteran church leader and Catechist Ojha Raphuba Marius inaugurated the new session of the school in the presence of Sr. Regina Chawan FMA, Local catechist, village leaders, and the church faithful.
