Readings: Acts 14:5-18; Jn 14:21-26
The liturgy of the day invites us to believe, love, and trust God and his words. We need to remain in his love and surrender ourselves to him and place our hope in him. It is very difficult when we face trails, sufferings and struggles in our life. We need to spend more time in praising and thanking God for these things.
We are to pray to God to grant the grace to overcome this. Our merciful God surely will help us to overcome them. We also are reminded that once we overcome these problems, we need to be grateful to God. We need to spend more time in prayer by thanking and praising God. We need to tune our ears to him and our conscience to feel the presence of God.
The Gospel reading reminds us to do good to others with love even when we receive bad from others. God will reward our good deeds and bless us each day. We will be able to live our life in a pleasant manner amidst all the other distractions that pass our way. In our life we face many crosses. We need to overcome them with courage with the help of God. We need to consider these crosses as a blessing and God’s love for us which mould us to become great in the future.
