The first reading from the book of Isaiah is a call to understand the obedience of the servant. We are all called to be at the service of the Lord and humanity. Today, Prophet Isaiah calls us to listen to the voice of God every day in the form of prayer and reading the word of God.
The gospel reading of the day speaks about the disciples asking Jesus regarding the preparation for the Passover meal. At the same time, we see the evil working in Judas, looking for an opportunity to betray Jesus. We too are in preparation of ourselves to partake in the supper of the Lord tomorrow. Let us ask ourselves what kind of preparation we can do to join the supper of the Lord. Are we going to join the Lord with the attitude like Judas to betray him or like that of Peter who denied Jesus three times?
Though Peter and Judas had the invitation and warning to repent beforehand, yet they committed a mistake. Today we are invited to become aware of our sins and seek the mercy and the grace of Jesus rather than betray or deny him during times of danger and selfishness. Let us participate in the passion of Jesus and renew our lives to celebrate the resurrection of the Lord with new spirit and new life.
