Readings: Acts 9: 31-42; Jn 6: 60- 69
We are in the third week of Easter and the word of God invites us to have faith and trust in God. In the first reading, we see Peter raising the dead back to life. A few weeks ago, we heard how Peter denied Jesus and today we saw how bold had become.
He was convinced of his faith that his master rose from death and that he needed to witness the risen Christ and proclaim him to the nations. Being filled with the Holy Spirit, he brought many to Christ and performed many miracles in his name. When we are convinced of our faith and have trust in the Lord, he performs miracles in our lives and uses us as instruments of His miracles.
Jesus’ teaching disturbed not only those in authority but also his disciples. They found his teaching unbelievable and heard to understand. However, Peter was convinced that Jesus was the Son of God and in him there was eternal life. He professed his faith in Him saying that he was the Holy One of God. We are called to be Christ’s disciple who are firm in faith and conviction. Like Peter, we must be ready to face the turbulence while witnessing our faith, especially in the present scenario of our country. Let us pray for courage and boldness in living and professing our faith.
