The liturgy of the day invites us to love everyone equally. We all have likes and dislikes and we love some people and may hate some others. But Jesus tells us that we should never hate people in our life, we should love everyone. It is extremely easy to love people we are happy with and who pass on their positive energy to support us. Today Jesus gives us an invitation to love everyone equally and live with them as brothers and sisters of Christ. How can we love our enemies? It is only possible by the grace of forgiveness and let us ask God for the gift of forgiveness.
All of us are created in God’s image and likeness. God loves everyone equally, accepts everyone as they are, and always sees the goodness in that person. We are trying to reach God by imitating his virtues. One of the virtues of Christ is love. We need to understand the importance of love and sharing the same love with others. We are growing towards perfection because our heavenly Father is perfect. We need to try to love those whom we dislike and accept them as they are and see Christ in them.
When we show love to those who may want to harm us, they will be transformed because of our love. We can see changes in their lives and particularly in their attitude. So, let us pray to God for his blessing and guidance.
