Bengaluru: Being a priest is not a job. It is a vocation. It is a calling!
It is true that priests are marked with the seal of Christ as His ministers for His people. But it is so important to realize that priests are also human. They make mistakes and they have faults. They are just like anyone else in that they like to go to the movies, they have favourite foods, and they may wonder sometimes if they are doing the right thing in their life.
A community of Catholics has come together and formed a Spiritual Professional Company called ‘JOHN 3:16 Mission Foundation’ in India, with a desire to proclaim the love of Jesus Christ and the traditions and teachings of the Catholic Church in a creative way to the world.
Just as priests are called to guide, shepherd, and bless the community, Catholics are called to back them up in prayer, encouragement, and appreciation.
In response to this need and call, John 316 Mission Foundation has launched a campaign titled R.E.A.P.P. (Releasing Encouragement, Appreciation & Prayers to Priests).
The initiative encourages church members to get involved in actively praying for and encouraging the priests in their lives.
Quoting 1 Thessalonians 5:12, the release added, “We ask you, brothers, to respect those who labour among you and are over you in the Lord.”
The forum aims to reach out to more people through this initiative.
