Bengaluru: The Indian church lost one of its tallest Catholic journalists on Tuesday. C V Joseph, who wrote for many Catholic publications, died of acute cardiac arrest in Bengaluru. He was 69. He leaves behind his wife Valsamma and two daughters Marina Jitty Jose (BSc Nurse in UK) and Anu Jinny Jose. The funeral will be held on July 30 in his native place in Kerala.
For more than 30 years, he chronicled developments in the Catholic church in India. He held senior positions in quite a few Christian media organisations. He was a veteran in the field of Christian communication and a prolific writer. He wrote for SAR News, Indian Catholic Matters, Matters India, DaijiWorld, to name a few.
He was a passionate journalist who has done yeoman service to the Church’s communication mission for more than three decades.
Being very god-fearing man, he worked really hard all his life and survived the toughest of times throughout his life. He always worked towards what he wanted to achieve. He spent some years in the North East, got married and had his first child there and then moved to Bangalore.
In Anu’s words, “I feel very proud when I see the messages his friends have sent. They say he was a great friend, a kind soul and an extraordinary man of God. He was also a very responsible, loving and encouraging father.”
