Ranchi: Cardinal Telesphore Toppo completed 81 glorious years of life. In July this year, because of his failing health Cardinal Toppo was shifted into the St. Anne’s Old Age home and Hospital so that he may be given the best round the clock medical care.
Today he was brought to Archbishop House for a simple but joyful celebration. He was received at the gate with the traditional washing of hands and offering of a flower bouquet by Archbishop Felix Toppo SJ and Bishop Theodore Mascarenhas SFX and a number of priests and seminarians.
He was accompanied to the Archbishop House Chapel to the beat of the tribal drums Mander where the Archbishop House community prayed with him and for him. His Eminence cut a cake with Bro. Roshan Toppo who also celebrates his birthday today. The priests and seminarians rendered melodious congratulatory songs after which they joined him for a simple but delicious lunch. We pray for our Cardinal.
