Readings: Hos 14:2-10; Mk 12:28-34
The readings of the day present to us the greatest commandment of God: the love of God as well as the love of neighbor as oneself. Jesus rightly places all the rules within this commandment of love. Love is something which gives meaning to my existence and I am called to love everyone unconditionally. Jesus Christ is the perfect example to follow.
In the modern world this love is lacking, and selfishness is increasing day by day, and we forget to touch the life of others through this commandment of love. Today Jesus is inviting and challenging me in this season of lent. Through prayers and works of charity this commandment of love calls me to become another Christ in the world, replace violence and injustice with the miracle of love.
St. mother Theresa said, ‘if you want to change the world go home and love those who are there’ Today I ask the grace of God to see his presence in every one and love everyone so that my preparation of lent may give meaning to my way of life.
