Today we see in the gospel one of the significant miracles performed by Jesus, feeding five thousand people in the wilderness. This, of course, Jesus has done for his people out of his love for humanity and far greater things are yet to be done by Jesus for all humanity.
There are ample incidences where Jesus revels to us that his heavenly Father is always nurturing and concerning toward us.Today this divine incident also invites us to investigate our life closely and beware of our own limitedness and inabilities which are hindrance for our growth spiritually, emotionally sometimes even physically, and surrender ourselves into the divine hands of Jesus who can turn us into an integrated human person.
We are nothing without God’s help and care but when we offer ourselves into the hand of God to be melted and molded, he will multiply what we have for the good of his faithful. He can make much of what we offer of ourselves because he knows what is suitable for his children.
Today in this incident Jesus revels to us how God is willing to help us and use us for his purpose provided we offer our whole being into his divine hand, trusting totally in his love and providence and are willing to be what he wants us to be. I am sure that then we will see God’s helping hand everywhere in our life.
