Readings: Act 22:3-16; Mk 16:15-18
The first reading speaks about persecution. Jesus asked Saul, “why are you persecuting me?” We can see that Saul was later guided by God to proclaim the good news to the whole world after the changes that took place in the life of Saul, because God intervened in the life of Saul. When we look into our life we do not see this is happening, because of our pride. We remember God only when we need his blessing.
The gospel tells about the importance of preaching. We are all called to preach the good news to every creature; we need to ask ourselves: am I doing my duty as religious? Or lay person? Anyone can preach the Good news, but it is difficult to practice in our day to day life.
The gospel says the one who believes in God will be saved. Through baptism we are entering into the church, believing deeply in the mystery of Christ’s death and resurrection. In baptism we are joined to Christ’s body on earth, the church as a baptized Christian. We ask the Lord to grant us the grace to live an authentic Christian life.
