Today we are entering into the Holy week. The readings of the day remind us of the passion and death of Jesus. We often reflect upon the divine aspects of Jesus and consider him as the third person who do not feel our pain. Let us make use of this week which rightly projects the human aspects of Jesus who prayed and resisted to accept the sufferings just like we do. Yet, he surrendered himself fully and accepted it as the will of God. It is by this obedience that he became the source of salvation.
This Sunday reminds us of the authentic great “Yes” of Jesus. As I was reflecting over that “Yes” of Jesus, a question arose within me. What does it mean to do the will of the Father? For each of us, it will mean something different, and it might require great sacrifice too. In different times we could have faced difficulties that were beyond our will and understanding. We might have had different plans for our life become before we chose Religious life / family life. And for some of us, it is the surprise and wonder about our presence in Religious life / family life.
And if we look back at our lived life, we find many incidents which took place not according to our will. Yet we continued with obedience considering it as the will of God. Through our life with the help of friends and family, we spent our time discovering who we are and what is the will of God for us. And at times we even fail to go through the sufferings and humiliations just because it is painful. Today let us be connected with the human aspects of Jesus to go through the pains and sufferings in spreading his kingdom. Let us seek his strength and spirit that we may become aware of our duty to the people around us who struggle in this pandemic situation.
