Reflecting on the biblical passages of the day, I am reminded of the profound love that God has for the world, exemplified by the sacrifice of his only son as a ransom for our sins.

Jesus, in his earthly ministry, walked a path of obedience and called upon us to follow him. Drawing parallels to King David’s final instructions to his son Solomon, who was to succeed him as king, I see a similar call for faithfulness to God. David encourages Solomon to remain steadfast in his devotion to God to reign as a God-fearing leader.

This echoes Jesus’ instructions to his apostles, emphasizing trust and dependence on God. We are commissioned by God to make him known, loved, and served. This divine purpose necessitates a wholehearted commitment to relying on God for everything. Obedience to God’s instructions, whether received directly or through authority figures, parents, or well-wishers, is paramount. It requires discernment to distinguish God’s guidance amidst various influences. The temptation to claim credit for our successes may arise as we fulfil our mission and gain popularity.

However, a conscious and humble acknowledgment that all achievements are in accordance with God’s will is crucial. Our conscience serves as the voice of God, guiding us. Failing to heed this inner voice may lead us away from God. This reflection prompts me to evaluate and strengthen my commitment to God’s guidance in every aspect of my life and mission.
