Today the Church asks us to ponder about the call which you and I received from the Lord: a call to be holy, a call to be a good human being, a call to reach out to the oppressed, a call to spend time with our community and family members, so on and so forth. As a Christian, my primary call and essential duty is to realize what the Lord wants me to do in my life for the betterment of society and of me.
We see in the first reading that Saul who was trying to kill David fell in the hand of David who could have easily killed him. But David chose the other way because he remembered that Saul is anointed and called by God. So he said: “who am I to lift my hand against him?”
In Gospel, the disciples are called to continue the mission of Jesus. There was a traitor too, but Jesus willingly and knowingly called him to be his disciple. This also reminds me that all are not as equal and good as I expect them to be but I should be able to accept as they are into my life taking inspiration from Jesus my master and Lord.
