Readings: Jer 3:14-17;Mt 13:18-23
The reading of the day invites me to focus on the Word of God more deeply. For me, the word of the Lord is powerful and strong which can change my life drastically.
As we see in the first reading, Yahweh declares that he will be their God. He says he will be with Israel and bring them back to Jerusalem. As a follower, I should be open to receive the word of God in me that will drastically change my life. At times, the Lord will speak to me through insights or other people. I should be able to hear the word of God and practice it in my life.
The gospel inspires me to follow the word of God firmly. This passage made me question whether I am a seed that forms in the fertile soil. How am I taking the word of God into my life? There are ample opportunities and incidents which speak to me regarding the kingdom of God. It is up to me how well I take it into my life. As a seed that has the potential to give life to oneself and others, so should my faith and my life be growth-promoting for myself and the others. God gives me each day his love and concern through nature and fellow human beings.
Today I ask myself, ‘how much more am I radiating the love of Christ in me? How do I give life to others as Jesus gave himself?’ It is an invitation to give myself for the others. For, the more I give the more I receive the mercy and love of God.
