Readings: 1 Cor 3: 1-9; Lk 4: 38-44
Today’s readings invite us to reflect on Jesus as divine healer. Jesus’ healing is inclusive. He travelled across Galilee, healing all kinds of people, including those infected with various kinds of diseases and possessed by demons. Jesus’ healing is a sign of liberation and freedom.
As I reflect on today’s context, COVID-19 lockdown has adversely impacted many and brought different kinds of suffering. Each one of us has gone through some sort of depressive thoughts and negative emotions. Some people have found no meaning in relationships while others may have found monotony in what they are doing.
While some individuals have discovered measures to keep themselves safe, others have sought a way out by taking their own life. For everything, reassurance is the key. Prayer is the way to keep up our hope. Let us pray to Jesus, the divine healer, to heal all our pains, sufferings, disease, agony etc., and to help us experience inner liberation. Let us place our hope in him and cry to him for our recovery. He will do wonders by coming into our lives and restoring everything that has been lost.
