Today, we celebrate, the day of new life. The commemoration of all the faithful departed tells us that dead are not really dead, but they receive new life in Christ. Today, we remember the great day of resurrection.
Catechism of Catholic Church tells that, “We firmly believe, and hence we hope that just as Christ is truly risen from the dead and lives forever, so after death the righteous will live forever with risen Christ, and he will raise them up on the last day.”
Today’s Gospel tells us that Jesus came down to us, as per the wish of His Father to raise us up from our misery. Those who believe in Christ will have eternal life. today we believe that those who have gone before us, are sharing eternal life with Christ.
The first reading of today firmly affirms that the righteous people are in the hand of God, and no one can harm them, no evil can touch them, but they are always at peace. In the sight of the Lord, they will always shine.
Second reading tells us that it is Christ who is our hope who died for us, so that we have life in Him. His death reconciled us and therefore we rejoice in God because Jesus is the resurrection and the life. in Him, we never die but live forever.
Today, as we pray for our near and dear ones who have gone before us, let us also reflect do we believe in life in Christ? Do we allow ourselves to be transformed by Christ, so that we live with Him forever?
