In a tete-e-tete at Archbishops House with this correspondent, before receiving a consignment of ration-bags for families from the Scheduled Tribe (ST) Community, Dr. Nayak said, “I am amazed at the relief work carried out by the Church. My appeal for some support to poor people in distress was graciously granted by the Archbishop”.

Dr Vinay, belonging from the ST (Schedule Tribe) Community, says, “I more easily understand their struggles and being a consultant member of few government minority departments, I voice my concerns for the helpless”. Dr. Vinay went on to say, “I am deeply impressed by the work going on here,” as he was shown around the activities of the BMSSS (Bangalore Multi-purpose Social Service Society.

A bachelor, Dr. Vinay Nayak (35) who is into educational and career counselling says, “I am paralleling and more deeply engaged in charitable work with support from many like-minded people”. He pitches in his personal earnings too, he says.

“My greatest inspiration is my Mother (54) who kept telling me from the age of five, through Kannada song and verse that I am not her son, but the son of the universe and the whole world, reach out to all in need,” he says. With gratitude, he adds, “This consignment from BMSSS will be reached to Schedule Tribes in this period of deep distress”.
