We are in a busy world. People are busy gaining wealth, possession, relationship, land, fame, name, etc. Some are busy changing their looks and their style of living. Some are busy in planning, investing their money and time for a better and comfortable future.
At the same time, some people are struggling to meet their needs and secure themselves and yet face social liabilities. Most of us are busy with our own struggles, wishes, needs and so on. Covid-19 gave us a shock, a sudden ‘break’ to the normal flow of life. People had struggles and are still having difficulty in coming back to a normal rhythm of life.
Do we need a ‘break’ away from normal busy life? Through the readings, Jesus is inviting me to that ‘break’ – to take the time to be with the Lord. The gospel speaks about a flock, a group of people who are like a sheep without a shepherd. I am like the sheep left with questions and worries. What shall I do when problems come?
How will I find answers to my personal problems? The only answer is ‘turn back to the shepherd.’ Find Jesus in the leading end and to develop a love towards his word, spiritual thoughts, and spend time with him in prayer, etc. The ultimate decision and the first step towards that is mine. My life, my actions and words must turn to be channels for me to reach God.
