Readings: Eph 1:1-10; Lk 11: 47-54
The liturgy of the day invites us to be messengers of God by keeping Christ at the centre of our lives, imitating his virtues and proclaiming his words to the people. God gives individual invitation to each of us to live a holy life and become his adopted children to be one with God. In our lives, we tend to commit sin because our origin is through Adam from where the sin entered humanity. But we can be saved from sin only through the grace of God, in the person of Jesus Christ, who is called the new Adam and destroyed sin from the world.
So, we are called to live and surrender ourselves to the Lord by placing our trust and hope in the Lord. The first reading reminds us to be faithful to our call that we have received from God to live and practice the Christian faith. God loves each of us unconditionally. Jesus lived his life on the earth for the betterment of the poor. God invites us to be his disciple to proclaim his gospel to the whole world. How can we become his disciple? We can become one through his grace from which we can love and understand others. We should be with the Lord and always pray to him for our protection and care.
The gospel reading invites us to be faithful to God by being responsible to our work. We need to encourage others, not discourage and taunt others. Sometimes, we may feel jealous and put others down by pointing out their weaknesses. God extends the invitation to all of us to live our life by being helpful to others and encouraging them. When we follow Christ and his teaching, everything will go on well. So, we need to pray every day for the grace of God.
