Readings: 1Sam 18: 6 -9, 19:1 -7; Mk 3: 7 -12
Today the reading invites me to show my love towards Jesus, who came to this world to love, to relate and to show concern for my life. In today’s Gospel reading, the attitude of Jesus and his genuine concern towards people remind me that, whenever I approach Jesus, for anything that I needed for my growth and life, he doesn’t say no to me but rather he does the things, more than what I need and expect.
From this particular passage, Jesus also teaches me that he is ever ready to welcome all: the oppressed, unloved, uncared for, marginalized, utterly poor and disabled people in the society. He welcomed them with good gestures which made them happy and healed of their sickness.
Jesus, the Son of God by giving himself totally to people in service, showed me that he is the way to his Father and perfect example in accomplishing God’s mission on earth. Above all, Jesus wants from me humility of heart and an attitude like that of him, to recognize the true love of Father that overflows and works in me for the good of his kingdom on earth.
